Windsor Bissell

Windsor Humphrey Bissell, 95, passed away peacefully at home on December 20, 2020 surrounded by family.  He was born on May 26, 1925 in New York City and moved to Florida in 1945.

Windsor led a long, active and interesting life.  He trained as a B24 tail gunner during World War II and then attended the University of Florida. There he attained his bachelor’s degree and began his life-long career in broadcasting.  Windsor worked at WJXT for over 35 years where he held a range of positions.  He loved to travel, was an avid tennis player and enjoyed puzzles and photography. A jazz music lover for life, Wins often tickled the ivories in the evening with his wife, Dori, providing vocal accompaniment. Together, they hosted legendary parties.

Windsor is survived by his children Bettina and Paul (Kim); grandchildren Windsor and Christine.  He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Doris.
