William Fredrick Meister

William (Bill) Meister passed away at home on August 8, 2022. He was born in Toledo, Ohio along with his twin sister Mary to parents William and Dorothy Meister. Bill attended Albion College and Eastern Michigan University prior to careers with Chrysler, Thetford and Port-O-Let. He later owned and operated two Swensen’s restaurants in Jacksonville.

Bill is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years Betsy and their two daughters Tracey (Dan) Bolton and Kristi (Charlie) Quick. He was predeceased by their son Billy. Also surviving are his sister Mary Badour, sister-in-law Carol (Richard) Hoeft. His precious grandchildren who he was proud to attend all sporting events & performances; Jessica (Chris) Saliba, Jared Nelson, Charles M. Quick (Lindsay), Tayler (Adam) McInturff, John Quick, Thomas Quick, Ryan, Bailey and Reagan Meister and Rebecca Bolton. Even more delightful were his great grandchildren Caleb, Mae, Claire, Lincoln and Jude as well as many nieces and nephews.

Bill enjoyed being with his family, golf, reading and watching all sports-especially his Michigan Wolverines. We will always remember his great hugs & smiles and will miss his chocolate milkshakes!

A Celebration of his Life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Tunnels to Towers Foundation or Beaches Emergency Assistance Ministry (BEAM). Condolences may be sent to Quinn-Shalz Funeral Home.
