William (Bill) Lewis Jones, 97, passed away November 5, 2017. He was born July 31, 1920 in Jacksonville, FL. He graduated from Andrew Jackson High School.
Bill proudly served our country in the US Marine Corps during World War II. He was a Certified Gemologist and worked his entire career as a fine jewelry manufacturer’s representative selling diamond rings and other jewelry to retail jewelry stores throughout the southeastern US before retiring to Jacksonville Beach, FL. After retiring, he enjoyed travel including trips to Alaska, Hawaii and two trips to the Holy Land. He was a devout Christian and lifelong member and leader of bible study groups. He was active in church work throughout his life. Bill loved music, played the violin in his youth, and was a tenor soloist in church choirs. He was an active member of The Brotherhood of St. Andrews at St. Paul’s by the Sea Episcopal Church. He was a loving father, grandfather and uncle who always had a unique sense of humor.
Bill is survived by his sons Ronald George and Ronald Mark Jones; daughter Linda Hood; grandchildren Patrick and Marcie Jones, Carrie and Chad Coleman; nephews William, Stephen and Mikael Fouraker, Richard and Randy Hjelm; and niece Pamela (Harry) Feuerherm.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 am, Saturday, November 11, 2017 at St. Paul’s by the Sea Episcopal Church, 465 11th Ave North, Jacksonville Beach, FL 32250. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Paul’s by the Sea, Tree of Life Foundation.
