Wanda Lillian (Carter) Dutcher, 88, of Jacksonville Beach, Florida went to be with the Lord on Friday, August 18, 2017. Wanda was born on March 15, 1929 in Kouchibouguac, New Brunswick, Canada to William and Isabel Carter. She married John Keith Dutcher in 1948. In 1960 the family moved to Jacksonville Beach, Florida.
Wanda was born to be a servant of the Lord and a caretaker to others. Her giving heart led her to care for the sick, the poor, and the needy. Even in her leanest times, she always found a way to bless those in need and support missionaries. During her early years in Jacksonville, she was a faithful member of Palms Presbyterian Church, where she prepared communion weekly, took care of the candelabras, and sang in the choir. She later joined Beaches Chapel Church, where she built lifetime friendships and joined several prayer groups, including End Time Handmaidens, and Senior Saints. After raising her 8 children, she took a job caring for the sick and elderly, a task for which she was especially suited. She will be sorely missed by her family, her friends, and all those whose lives she has touched. She will forever be in our hearts.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 59 years, John Keith Dutcher. She is survived by her 8 children: Isabel (Lee), Eldon (Barbara), Byron (Janice), Marilyn (Vernon), Lois (Jim), Austin (Shirley), Garth (Leslie), Malcolm (Ursula); 23 grandchildren: Matthew (Brenna), Barry (Julie), Neil (Kristina), Jason (April), Chase (Nhung Huynh), Brock (Caroline), Ruth, Daniel, Philip, Jeremy, James (Christine), Aaron (Rose), Kadesh (Matt), Tamara, Asher (Kassity), Dawn (Jeff), Jimmy (Rosie), Ben (Andrea), Katie (Scott), Sarah (Jeff), Blake, Joy, Christiana; 27 great-grandchildren: Leeloo, Ronin, Keira, Caleb, Jacob, Alicia, Taylor, Brady, Sydney, Matthew, Nyia, Jeremiah, Lilly, Emma, Levi, Keiran, Ethen, Ella, Waylon, Christina, Jessica, JC, Simon, Sidney, Asher, Hayes and Riley; 4 sisters-in-law and 1 bother-in-law Norma, Charles, Jean, Shirley and Frances; and many special nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, August 26th at 11:00 a.m. at Beaches Chapel Church with a reception following.
