Walter Krupinski

Walter Krupinski, age 92, passed away on October 26, 2021 with his wife at his bedside.

He was born in Norwich, CT on 7/28/29. He enlisted in the Air Force in 1951 where he served until joining the Department of State as a Foreign Service Officer in 1964.  While in the service he married Harriett who worked for the Department of Defense.  They lived in Paris, Venice and Rome and traveled extensively. Walter loved to converse and was fluent in many languages. He retired from the State Dept.  in 1979 and they moved to California. He was manager of the La Jolla By the Beach Hotel until he retired in 1991.

They moved to Ponte Vedra Beach, FL where they were very happy until Harriett became ill from cancer.  Walter lovingly took care of her until she passed away in 2011 after 51 years of marriage.

Walter met Audrey Dearborn in 2007 while they both attended the Cardio Workout Program at Baptist Hospital.  Eventually they both stopped attending the class but later ran into each other at Table One and became fast friends. They married in May of 2017. Although Walter loved his nieces and nephews, he had never had children or pets. His marriage to Audrey changed that and he enjoyed both. They traveled to Walter's favorite places (France and Italy) as well as many places he had never been previously.

Walter's favorite pastimes were sports, travel, eating and talking. He never met a stranger without engaging them in conversation, making friends wherever he went. Everyone who knew Walter loved him and he will be greatly missed.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 1:00 Thursday, November 4, 2021 at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church, 545 A1A North, Ponte Vedra Beach FL.
