Walter Fanton

CMDCM (SW) Walter A Fanton USN (RET) 79 passed away January 25, 2022. He was born June 17, 1942, in Wellsville NY to Clifford and Shirley Fanton. Grew up in the Buffalo area till joining the Navy in 1959.

Walt proudly served our country in the Navy for 30 years. He happily gave his all to the following sets of orders.

Upon retiring from the Navy Walt continued his service to the military and its members thru the Dept of Labor as an advocate for veteran's re-employment rights and finding business's that could hire veterans with many different skills.

Walt is survived by his son Dale (Lori) and Daughter Michelle (Wes) 3 grandsons,4grand-daughtersand 1 great- grandson and 1 great- granddaughter.

We shall all remember him with PRIDE and HONOR.

Celebration of his life will be held Saturday, Feb.5 2022 at 11AM at Quinn-Shalz Funeral Home, 3600 3rd St South. Jacksonville Beach Fl. 904-249-1100.

A Graveside Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, July 29, 2022 at Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Road, Jacksonville FL 32218. If you plan to attend, please arrive 20-30 minutes early as there will be a short procession to the ceremony area.
