Virginia Lucille Bird

Virginia L. Bird, Age 96, passed on peacefully on March 11, 2025. Originally from Arkansas, her childhood was spent in a farming community and later in a secretarial pool, finally as a homemaker. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and showed deep love for her family and many friends. She was predeceased by her parents Elmer and Nora and, 10 brothers and sisters, and her husband, Herrell R. Bird (1924-2009). She is survived by two Brothers, E.J. of California and Wayne of Arkansas, numerous nieces and nephews, her children, Michael (Nena) Bird, Mary Ann (Charles) Staton, grandchildren Ryan, Carey, Lauren and Matthew. Virginia was deeply loved by her caregivers and staff at Rosecastle at Deerwood and Heartland Hospice. A memorial service is scheduled at Rosecastle at Deerwood 8929 R.G Skinner Pkwy. Jacksonville, FL (904-513-6990) for Saturday, April 26, 2025, at 2:30 p.m. Family and Friends are invited to celebrate Virginia.
