Violet Marie Mowles, age 89, transitioned to her heavenly home on Wednesday, May 2, 2018, at Clare Bridge Memory Care. She was born in Norton, Virginia, and was the middle child of three children. Her parents John and Froney Adams, brothers Charles and Lee Adams predecease her.
Marie moved from Virginia to Winter Haven, Florida, and upon the death of her husband Jack Mowles, moved to Jacksonville Beach to be near her daughter.
Marie had a full life enjoying cooking, playing weekly golf and bridge, volunteering for the hospital auxiliary, active in her church and being a wiz in the stock market. The last few years of her life changed dramatically when she was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. However, being the fighter she always was, she developed many new relationships and became the reigning “Queen Bee” at the Memory Care facility.
Marie is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Sandra and Steve Davis, Granddaughter April Vogel (Brent), Grandson Michael Hale (Lisa), and Great-grandchildren Cameron, Clayton and Chase Vogel, Cory and Jonathan Hale, and Step-Great-Grandchildren Kaylee and Zachery Clemons, and Sister-in-law Celia Adams, and Nephews Johnny and Char and Niece Maria. She is predeceased by her son Michael B. Hale.
A private celebration of her life will be held for the family at a later date. Love and gratitude to the staff at Clare Bridge Memory Care and NE Florida Community Hospice for the tender and loving care given to Marie.
