LINNEN Thomas F. Linnen Sr., 90, of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL passed away January 21, 2016. He was born in Carbondale, PA to John and Marie Linnen. Thomas has been a resident of Ponta Vedra Beach for the past fifteen years. Thomas graduated from Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service and completed graduate studies at American University. He was a veteran of WWII and the Korean War. He held commissioned officer rank in both the U.S. Air Force and the U.S. Army and held the rank of Major, USAR Ret. He served as a counterintelligence and civil affairs officer and in psychological operations with U.S. Army Special Forces. He was a former National Vice President of the Reserve Officers Association of the U.S. He was a Life Member of the American Legion and the DAV. Thomas also served in Field assignments, Directorate of Operations, Central Intelligence Agency; Aide Office of Secretary of Army, and Pentagon; Assistant for Public Relations to the President of Georgetown University; Press aide to three U.S. Congressmen, Capitol Hill, Washington, D.C., Columnist for a news syndicate and reporter for three newspapers; various upper management positions with Equifax. He was a former Chairman and CEO of an international strategic management consultant group. He served as a consultant to the Russian government at the Federal and Regional levels. He was former Chair of Russian-American joint venture companies AAE, AIG and ABC. He also served as a member of the AFPC's RAD Group. Thomas also volunteered and donated to charitable, cultural, political and educational causes. Thomas is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Mary Jo; son, Tom (Laura); daughters, Nancy (Jim) Tartol, Paula (Bruce) Polsky and Michele Linnen; grandchildren, Zachary Tartol, Alexandra (Michael) Schmitt, Hannah and Elliot Polsky, Michael and Samantha Linnen; great grandchild, Gabriella Rose Schmitt; and brother A.J. Linnen. He was predeceased by his daughter, Mary. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 26, 2016 in Quinn-Shalz Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Wed., January 27, 2016 in Our Lady Star of The Sea Catholic Church.
