Steven R Sterling, 56, went to be with the Lord April 1st, 2017 in Jacksonville, FL. A celebration of his life will be held Saturday, April 8th, 2017 at Quinn-Shalz Family Funeral Home at 3pm.
Steven was born July 16th, 1960 in Baltimore, MD to Richard and Marilou Sterling. In high school, he developed a love for music through playing saxophone. After graduating high school, Steven attended Bucks County Community College in Pennsylvania. Following college, he continued to professionally play music alongside multiple musicians, including Bill Haley’s Comets, and various church groups later on in his life. His interest in computers and information technology led him into a lifetime career in Computer and Media Technology. Ultimately, Steven was an accomplished entrepreneur, business owner, and brilliant musician.
Steven married his wife/best friend, Doreen in 1990. They raised six children: Crystal (husband, Joshua), Christopher (wife, Diana), Genna (husband, Marco), Erin (husband, Patrick), Isaac (wife, Tatiana), and Kathleen. They have six grandchildren: Makai, Autumn, Remington, Avery, Nora, and Wren. He was a loving father and grandfather.
He enjoyed spending time working on cars. He loved serving others in his church and community; but, most of all, he loved spending time with and serving his family. He was a member of Bible Church International in Randolph, NJ where he was on staff with the leadership team. Steven and Doreen relocated to Jacksonville, FL in 2015, to attend Charis Bible College and actively serve in Momentum Church together.
He is survived by his sister, Diane Maguire and father, Richard Sterling. He was preceded in death by his brother, David A Sterling (1991) and his mother, Marilou Sterling (2016).
