Stephen Andrew Black

March 23, 1976 — January 9, 2023

Jacksonville

The world is a little darker place without the laughter and chuckles of beloved father, sonny-boy, brother, uncle, nephew, whole-hearted friend, master craftsman, pro-claimed master chef, amature farmer & beekeeper, Steve Black.

Born March 23, 1976, in South Deerfield, MA he lived primarily in Bedford, NH. A New Hampshire man through and through. He grew up fishing, boating, water skiing on lake Winnipesaukee and camping. He graduated from West High Class of 1994. He developed a passion for cooking, and all things hobby related from building & racing small race cars, building & flying model airplanes and candle making. He honed-in his skills of woodworking and being a master craftsman. There was nothing he couldn’t fix or rarely didn’t have the knowledge of off the top of his head on how to fix. He cherished every minute he had with his kids. From making sushi and baking with Anna, to making jerky and ice fishing with Holden. He recently moved to the Sunshine state Jacksonville, FL for more opportunities of adventure and being closer to family & newfound friends.

Steve was so proud of his kids and talked about them all the time. He loved Hawaiian and dad joke shirts, being on the water, going out for a great meal or cooking one. When it came to cooking, nothing intimidated him. When his smile spread to his eyes you knew something was up. It’s nearly impossible to tell a story about Steve without laugher, jokes or a littler irrelevance.

Survived by the lights of his life, his children, Rhiannon and Holden Black; Mother, Karen Black; sisters, Elizabeth & Emily Black; nephew, Gunnar; stepmother, Carol; great aunts, cousins and friends he turned into his extended family.

He is now grilling cheeseburgers in paradise with his father Charles “Chuck” Black II, catching endless cod, bluefish, wicked big lobstah, and talking about who’s chowdah recipe is best. Forever missed and forever loved.

We will be celebrating Steve’s life on February 18th, 2023. https://fb.me/e/35T4J7C31?mibextid=Z0UBBX
