Stephanie McCammon

Stephanie Leigh McCammon passed away peacefully in Jacksonville, Florida on November 29, 2020, surrounded by family.  Stephanie was born October 13, 1972, in Macomb, Illinois.  She was preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy McCammon.  She is survived by her son Zak (Jessica) McCammon, father Clark (Mary Ann) McCammon, brother Craig (Sheri) McCammon, grandsons Landon and Maxwell, nephew Evan, husband Ron Newman, stepsons Kyle and Ross Newman, stepsisters Kelly Hogan and Colleen (Charles) Wilhelm, and step brothers Michael and Sean Hogan.

Stephanie graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1994 and a Master of Arts in 1998, both from Western Illinois University. Stephanie worked as a Field Representative for the Phillip Morris Corporation and a Lead Accounts Manager for Staples. However, her true passion was teaching.  She was an Adjunct Professor of Sociology at Florida State University, Flagler College, University of North Florida, St. Leo University, and Florida State College.  Stephanie enjoyed music and traveling and was an avid animal lover and animal rescue advocate.  She was beautiful, kind, vibrant and lived life to the fullest. She did it her way.

A Memorial Service will be held on December 12, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Quinn-Shalz Family Funeral Home, 3600 3rd Street South, Jacksonville Beach, Florida.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests those who wish to express sympathy to consider donating to their favorite animal rescue in Stephanie’s name.
