Stanley Clement, 91, passed away October 13, 2020. He was born in Cambridge, Massachusetts on May 22, 1929. He earned his Bachelor of Science Degree from Clark University in Worcester, Massachusetts and his Masters in Education Degree from Southern Connecticut State Teachers College in New Haven, Connecticut.
Stan served on Active Duty in the U.S. Navy for five years after college and returned to civilian life in 1956. He stayed in the Navy Reserve and retired in 1989 at the rank of Lieutenant Commander.
After active duty in the Navy, Stan began a career in Education with the state of Connecticut. His last position was as Principal of the Abraham Pierson Elementary School in Clinton, Connecticut. Stan retired from the State of Connecticut in 1985.
Stan is survived by his wife Carol Clement of Atlantic Beach, Florida; his children William, Stephen and Susan; his step-children Laura Armstrong, Karl Johnson and Paul Johnson; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Stan loved to travel and was always planning his next trip, many times with extended family. A life-long learner, he’d keep up on his Spanish with anyone who was game and avidly read books until the end.
In retirement Stan taught at the Palm Beach Day School for several years. He also enjoyed travelling around the United States and the world, as well as spending time with family and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Until that time, take up a new hobby, plan a trip and meet a new person in your life and tell a good story.
