Sharon Laxy Williams

On August 7, 2023, we bid farewell to a cherished wife, mother, and friend, Sharon Laxy Williams. Sharon was an amazing woman of faith deeply devoted and in love with her husband of 67 years, Harry Williams and their children Michael Williams (Deborah) of Saint Augustine, Christopher Williams (Donna) of Atlantic Beach and Suzanne Williams of Fort Lauderdale.

Born on February 17, 1937, in Davenport, Iowa to Harold and Helen Laxy, Sharon shared a deep bond with her brother Robert Laxy (deceased) and sisters Deborah Marshall and Karen Winters. She leaves behind a legacy of love, survived by her adoring husband, children, and grandchildren Joseph Dinunzio (Carrie), Joshua Williams (Brandi), Melissa Day (James), Kaleigh Bounds (Tyler), Warren Williams (Kyla), Monica Satchell (Thomas), Colette Williams, John Paul Williams, Grant Williams, Brian Williams, Celine Williams and great-grandchildren Logan, Maximus, Scarlett, Penelope, Phoenix, Luca, Holland, Sebastian, and two more on the way!

Sharon's life journey encompassed many roles - from a caring school bus driver during her children's youth, to a dedicated realtor and a skilled 500-ton boat captain. An insatiable thirst for knowledge led her to explore various passions, including water aerobics instruction, sailing, acting and playing musical instruments, such as the saxophone and harp. Her travels spanned the globe, enriching her understanding of the world and her faith. A fervent lover of God, Sharon's kind spirit resonated with family and friends, always ready to express a positive thought, extend a helping hand or share her beloved plays and satire to uplift those around her.  She was especially proud of her service with Mercy Ships International, bringing comfort, care, and medical treatment to those less fortunate.

A funeral mass will be celebrated by Father Rafael on August 17, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church located at 2400 Mayport Road, Jacksonville.
