David Sheffield, a beloved servant of God and cherished family man, passed away on December 2, 2024, in Jacksonville, Florida, surrounded by his loving family. Born on January 6, 1950, in Smithville, Mississippi, David devoted his life to ministering and sharing the gift of faith with those around him. He earned a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and Masters degree in Divinity, which served as the foundation for a lifetime committed to uplifting others through his spirituality.
David's personality shone brightly in every aspect of his life. He was known for his kind and humble spirit, always ready to lend a helping hand or offer words of encouragement. His great sense of humor was infectious; he often lightened the mood with well-timed humor, reminding everyone around him not to take life too seriously. David's dedication to his faith was paralleled only by his deep love for his family, which he considered his greatest accomplishment. He took immense pride in his role as a husband, father, and grandfather.
David is survived by his adoring wife, Robin Sheffield, and their three children: Raina Ramos, Samuel Sheffield II, and Jordan Sheffield. David's legacy will continue through his treasured children and grandchildren, whose lives he touched profoundly with his unwavering love and guidance.
In celebration of his life and legacy, a service will be held at Redeemer Church on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. followed by a reception. Friends and community members are invited to gather in reverence and love to rejoice a life well lived.
David's journey on this earth, though complete, leaves behind countless memories for those who were fortunate enough to know him. He was a beacon of hope and strength, reflecting his love for God through action, kindness, and an abundance of laughter. Let us rejoice in the knowledge that his spirit lives on in the hearts of all who loved him.
In lieu of flowers it is David's wish that donations be made to Redeemer's Missions Fund or to the mission that is closest to your heart.
