Samuel Mathew Lopanik passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, April 20th, 2024, at the age of 50.
Born February 7th, 1974, in New Jersey, Sam grew up and lived most of his life in the Jacksonville beaches community. After he graduated from Fletcher High School, he learned many trades, but eventually settled into a career in real estate and investing. Sam lived a free-spirited lifestyle, enjoying traveling, cooking, gardening, Suwannee Music festivals, skiing and spending time with friends and family.
Sam is preceded in death by his parents, David and Lillian Lopanik. He is survived by his sister and brother-in-law Laura and Eugene Ozimkovski; niece and nephew Mallory and Graham Ozimkovski; and cousins including Debbie and Stephen Schwartz, and Danielle Parsons. In addition to his biological family, Sam is survived by his Winter Park, Colorado family, Dave and Mari and his Cavalla family.
A Celebration of Life for the original “King of Cavalla” will be held Wednesday, May 22, 2024, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at 177 Sailfish Drive.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Jacksonville Humane Society.
