Ruth Grant, age 88, passed away in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida on March 30th, 2023. Ruth was born on April 13th, 1934, in Piedmont, AL. She was the youngest of six siblings. Ruth married Charles Grant and had three children. She was a devoted military wife, as her husband served in both the Korean and the Vietnam Wars. During service, they lived in the Panama Canal Zone. Upon her husband’s retirement from the Marines, she spent the next fifty years of her life in Albany, GA. While living in Albany, Ruth was a member of Sherwood Baptist Church. Her hobbies included gardening, cooking (especially jalapeño cornbread and divinity), sewing, and exercise classes at Byne every week. Ruth’s favorite hobby was playing competitive bridge amongst good friends and across many leagues. To say that every single family member adored her would be a wild understatement. Ruth was everyone’s Nanny. Ruth had a big impact on her family. We are so lucky she was ours, and we are forever grateful for all of the memories we have.
Ruth is survived by her granddaughter, Paige Price (Matt), and great-grandson, Grant Price, of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL. She is also survived by her eldest son, Frank Grant (Pat), of Albany, GA. Ruth was predeceased by her husband, Charles Grant, daughter, Susan Grant, and son, David Grant.
Ruth loved to laugh. In lieu of flowers, please find time to share a laugh with loved ones.
