Ronald Craig Ford, Craig as we know him, was taken all too soon from us on May 17, 2018. He was born in Jacksonville on May 24, 1986, and while he lived in other places in the State, Jacksonville was his home.
Craig completed Auto Repair Certification in 2006 but soon developed a passion for welding. He became a welder by trade and was a member of the Boilermakers Local 199 from 2009-2013. He was most recently employed by local shower door manufacturer Coastal Industries welding for the maintenance department. He was also a proud member of the Delaware Tribe of Indians.
Craig’s greatest joys were movies, cars, motorcycles and working in his yard. His good nature, wit and kind heart filled the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
Craig was preceded in death by his grandparents Jerald L. Ford and Don and Imogene Burton. He leaves behind a daughter, Cassidy-Ann Ford, his parents Ronald and Michelle (Burton) Ford of Jacksonville, Sister Leila (Columbus, Ohio) and his paternal grandmother Carol Ford (White Springs); and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday May 25, 2018 in the Chapel of Quinn-Shalz Funeral Home, Jacksonville Beach.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in memory of Ronald Craig Ford to St. Vincent’s Healthcare Foundation, PO Box 41564, Jacksonville, Florida, 32203. Craig was overwhelmed with the generosity of the organization in their efforts to provide healthcare necessary for his needs.
If there ever comes a day when we can’t be together, Keep me in your heart, I’ll stay there forever. (Winnie-the-Pooh)
