Robert A. Wolf (Bob) passed away on Sunday, May 6, 2018. He is survived by his wife, Linda Overton Wolf, daughter Dori Wolf Kunkle, son Robert A. Wolf II, son in law Dennis Kunkle, daughter in law Andree Bourgon, and grandchildren Andrew and Luke Kunkle, and Elysee, Aurielle, and Zavier Wolf. He has one brother, Richard Wolf who resides in Brewster, Massachusetts.
Bob attended The Stony Brook school on Long Island and earned a degree in electrical engineering from Cornell University in Ithaca, New York. He transferred to Maryland in 1970 for an engineering position and worked in Maryland at various engineering roles until his retirement in February, 2017. He was an enthusiastic worker and enjoyed mentoring junior engineers and discussing the logistics of any job with the people he met.
Bob was a loving family man who adored his own children and shared his family and home with four midshipmen he and his wife sponsored during their education at the Naval Academy. He was a devout Christian and diligent student of the Bible. He had a beautiful singing voice and enjoyed loudly singing hymns and other favorite tunes.
Bob and his wife, Linda, have owned a home in Atlantic Beach since 2003. In December, 2017 they relocated to Jacksonville.
There will be a Celebration of Life gathering on Friday, May 11 at the Jacksonville Golf and Country Club at 11 am. The family requests that everyone please wear country club casual attire, no black.
