Robert Orner

ORNER, Robert T. 83, died November 22, 2014. He was born on August 29, 1931 in Altoona, PA; a 1947 graduate of Altoona Catholic High School. He proudly served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. After his military service, Robert attended the University of Notre Dame where he received a Bachelor's degree in engineering. He worked an as engineer for Mel Par and Raytheon, and as an advanced research engineer for General Telephone and Electronics (GTE). In 1968 he received a Juris Doctorate degree from Suffolk University Law School, Boston, MA. He went on to become Vice President and general counsel of intellectual property for GTE where he was employed for twenty-nine years, and eventually retired in 1993. He was a registered professional engineer in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, a licensed attorney in Connecticut, Massachusetts and New York, former town judge in Skaneateles, NY, as well as, President of Association of Corporate Patent Counsel, a national intellectual patent counsel operation. Robert is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Anne M. Orner; five children; eleven grandchildren; and 1 great-grandson. Visitation will be from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, December 1, 2014 in Quinn-Shalz Family Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 2, 2014 in Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL.
