Richard Hufford
June 1, 1925 — April 30, 2016
Richard (Dick) F. Hufford born June 1, 1925 died April 30, 2016. Beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend. He served in the US Navy aboard the USS Antietam, honorably discharged in 1946. Graduated University of Louisville 1949. Partnered in business with his father until entering the F.B.I. as a Special Agent 1952. Retired F.B.I. 1976 took position as Director of Special Services L&N Railroad, then same position with SCL Railroad in Jacksonville 1980. 1983 began his favorite job with wife Betty as part-time Parish Visitors Palms Presbyterian Church. Fully retired at age 80 in 2005.
He was predeceased by his wife of 53 years, Betty Atwell Hufford. Survived by 3 children Keith Hufford (Rick Flowers), Cindy Burchard (Scott), and Chris Hufford (Pam); (brother Duane Hufford died 5/2/16) sisters Doris Rawlings, Shirley Norby (Chuck); 3 grandchildren Pamela, Bryan and Carissa Burchard.
Memorial/Celebration of Life service 11am, Thursday, May 26, 2016 at Palms Presbyterian Church 3410 3rd St South, Jax Beach, FL. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Palms Church New Disciples Ministry.
