Richard George (Dick) Dillaman of St. Simons Island, GA died April 16, 2016 at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, FL. He was born the youngest child of George and Mildred (Graham) Dillaman on March 28, 1936 in Meadville, PA. He married the love of his life, Christine Ingols, March 19, 1982. Upon his graduation from Saegertown High School in 1955 he was employed by Talon, Inc. while completing his four year apprenticeship to become an electrician. Dick was a member of the IBEW for 59 years during which time he was Assistant Superintendent of the building of the Pittsburgh Plate Glass plant in Meadville. He was also employed by Kightlinger Electric for many years and then worked at the Shippenport Power Plant. Dick was a member of Masonic Lodge #408 for 47 years and a former member of the Elks Club.
Dick loved country music, beachcombing and sitting on the pier at sunset. He could fix anything and was generous with his time and talents. One of his last projects was helping a friend refurbish an antique Wurlitzer jukebox.
Dick was preceeded in death by his parents; brothers and sisters-in-law, Clayton (Irene) Dillaman, Edwin (Eleanor and Elsie) Dillaman; brother, Bob Dillaman and brother-in-law Bud Weibel.
Surviving are his wife of 34 years; son David Dillaman and his children Autum, Brett, Kaylee, Corey, Aaron and Taylor of Meadville, PA; daughter, Connie Reister and her children Amy, Ryan and Kristin of Conneaut Lake, PA; daughter, Julie Dillaman and her companion Kris Cornelle and their children Cody and Jayden of Conneaut Lake, PA; stepdaughter, Angela Hank and her partner Lisa Van Savage of Leonardo, NJ; stepson Vincent (Dana) Hank and their children Austin and Aiden of Clarence Center, NY; brother Max (Florence) Dillaman of Meadville, PA; sister Rachael Weibel of Meadville, PA; sisters-in-law Donna Dillaman of Norrisville, PA and Lois Ann Irvin of St Simons Island, GA; brothers-in-law Robert (Linda) Irvin and Richard (Sandra) Ingols of Cut Off, LA. In addition, Dick has numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and their children.
Christine and family will be receiving visitors at their home to celebrate a life well lived on Friday, April 22nd from 1-3 PM.
