Reginald “Reggie” Warren Exum, passed away on November 22, 2022 at age 74. Born on December 28, 1947 to Lloyd and Mildred Exum, Reggie was a lifelong resident of Jacksonville.
Reggie graduated from Jean Ribault Sr. High School, then served in the United States Army for 3 years, during which he earned the rank of E-5 Sergeant. He returned to Jacksonville and married the love of his life, Charlene Exum, in 1970 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, where they were long-time parishioners. Together they raised three children.
Reggie began his career in the electrical apprenticeship, graduating first in his class, and later attaining the distinction of master electrician. Along the way, he demonstrated his lifelong entrepreneurial spirit by founding and operating several successful companies in the electrical and telecommunications industries. Reggie passed along this spirit of determination, hard work and discipline to his family.
Reggie was an incredible husband, father and grandfather, always putting his family first, and setting an example for others in the way he lived his life. He will be remembered for his kindness, adventurous spirit and loquacious personality. He impacted the lives of so many with his positivity and charitable heart.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Carolyn Bohanan. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Charlene Exum, his three children, Julie Exum Breuer (Matt), Reggie Exum (Kimberly), and Roger Exum (Crystal), his seven grandchildren, Tyler Exum, Alex Breuer, Sean Breuer, Allyson Exum, Kaylee Exum, Cole Breuer and Grace Exum, and his brother, Robin Exum.
A Memorial Service will be held from 6:00 - 8:00 PM, Friday, December 2, 2022 at Quinn-Shalz Family Funeral Home, 3600 3rd St S, Jacksonville Beach, Florida.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 PM, Saturday, December 3, 2022 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 9800 Baymeadows Rd, Jacksonville, Florida with Father Michael Larkin as Celebrant. The Mass will be followed by a private family burial.
