Raymond Barrett

Raymond Arthur Barrett, 85, of Atlantic Beach, FL died peacefully on Wednesday, July 20, 2016, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on September 25, 1930 in Massachusetts and grew up in Philadelphia, PA.
He served in the US Air Force, then earned an undergraduate degree from Villanova and graduate degree from Seton Hall. He worked in finance and accounting for several large home and office furniture companies. He was also an entrepreneur.
He was a loving and devoted husband, father and friend. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Betsy, daughters Mary (Bob), Susan (Dave), and Jennifer (Richard) and his grandchildren Patrick, Christina, Adam, Olivia, Anne, Caroline, Sophie and Matthew.
He considered himself a “Lucky Man”. He was a gracious and loving man for whom family was most important and he will be remembered with love.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 30th at St Paul’s Catholic Church in Jacksonville Beach. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Canine Companions for Independence or Community Hospice of NE Florida.
