Ralph Edgar Mongeon, age 86, departed this life on December 25, 2021, at home with his wife Sandra by his side, after a courageous battle with cancer. Ralph was born to Edgar and Lena Mongeon on September 24th in Woonsocket, RI. He graduated from Mt Saint Charles in 1953 and continued his education at Rhode Island School of Design. Ralph proudly served our country for 8 years in the Navy Reserves. He worked at Raytheon Dynamics, in Waltham, MA, and then continued to pursue a draftsman’s career.
Ralph an avid entrepreneur, with a bigger than life personality, which lead him to owning Marion’s Sew & Vac, a retail business in Bellingham, MA., and buying and selling real estate. One would say he always had a project in mind. He and Sandra retired to Florida, spending summers in their home in Maine.
Ralph loved spending time with family and friends. He had an honest, heartfelt optimism that showed in everything he did. He had a passion for traveling, entertaining, gardening and working in the yard. Ralph would end his busy day listening to classical music and enjoying a glass of wine. He never knew a stranger and always make you feel welcomed. Anyone who knew him was touched by his kindness, humor, and positivity. He was a bright spark in this world and will be sadly missed by many. We take comfort in knowing he is at peace.
Ralph is survived by his wife, Sandra Mongeon; beloved sons, Michael (Yvette), Reverend Peter Mongeon, and Timothy Mongeon; grandchildren, Gregory Mongeon, Samantha Mongeon, Lisha Mongeon (Troy) Hall, Benjamin (Kayla) Mongeon; and 7 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his first wife and the mother of their sons, Dorothy Dwyer; former wife, Marion St Pierre.
