Rachel Steverson

September 8, 1986 — November 5, 2017

If love could have saved her, she would have lived forever.

As a child with her cornsilk blonde hair and soulful blue eyes, Rachel stole the heart of everyone who met her.  She had a quirky humour, that frequently caught us by surprise.  Through the years, she always stood up for the underdog and the bullied. She had the heart of a child, and wanted so very much for life to be fair.

Rachel had an immense love of animals, frequently rescuing strays and finding them homes.  Through all her years, she always had a dog by her side.  Her love of the arts and her artistic talents were seen frequently in her paintings and drawings.  She found comfort and peace in music, and had an eclectic  playlist with her at all times.

Rachel is survived by her father, Robert Steverson, her mother, Cynthia Steverson, her sisters Robyn Johnson, Rebecca Steverson, Renee Stone and her husband, Eric, Lucy Steverson and her fiance’, Jonathan Harris, her aunt,  Rachel Cuevas, and her aunt and uncle, Lali and Davey Moyers, her paternal grandmother, Velma Steverson, nine nieces and nephews, and her beloved Harley.

An informal Memorial gathering will be held, Tuesday, November 14, 2017 from 5:00-7:00pm at Quinn-Shalz Funeral Home,  located in Jacksonville Beach.

Rachel especially cared about the misinformation and abuse of pit bull terriers.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation be made in her memory to the local pit bull rescue organization: PitSisters.org.

She didn’t need to be saved, she needed to be found

and appreciated for exactly who she was.
