Priscilla Leggett Boylan

Priscilla Leggett Boylan, 97, of Vicar’s Landing, Ponte Vedra Beach, FL, passed away peacefully on June 13, 2023. Priscilla grew up and lived most of her life in Nyack, New York before moving with her husband James Boylan to Sawgrass Country Club in Ponte Vedra Beach in 1996.

Priscilla was born April 6, 1926 to Alan Leggett and Ruth (Brady) Leggett. Nicknamed by her father Blackspot because of her tom boy dirty knees, she was the son her father never had. He taught her to fish and crab in the Hudson River and she and her dog Lucky went around the neighborhood selling fish. She was an avid gardener and loved to entertain her friends and family. She was an excellent bridge player and took up golf later in life. Priscilla was an extremely engaging and social person who served on the Board of Directors of Fisherman’s Cove Association at Sawgrass Country Club.  Throughout her life Priscilla dedicated herself to others, first as a professional respiratory therapist in New York area hospitals and later as the primary caregiver to her dedicated husband Jim. She was an active member of Christ Episcopal Church in Ponte Vedra Beach and a volunteer at Seymour’s Book Store at Ponte Vedra Beach Public Library. She was also a loving and generous mother and grandmother.

Priscilla is survived by her children, Patricia Dowdell, Alan Patterson (Susan), and Ruth Elizabeth (Betty) Osuszek (Alex). She is also survived by her six grandchildren – David (Sage) Pritchard, Jackson Patterson, William Patterson, Bryan Osuszek (Kathryn), Michael Osuszek (Kimberley), and Kristen Osuszek Reel (Stephen). She is predeceased by her parents, her sisters Ruth Wadlund and Virginia Cameron, and her husband James Boylan.

A Celebration of Life was held in Vicar’s Landing on June 16, 2023, and a Memorial Service will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery in Nyack, New York at a future date.
