Phyllis Moxley

August 1, 1918 — January 13, 2017

Our beloved Mother, Phyllis S. Moxley, went to be with the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ the morning of Friday, January 13, 2017.  Phyllis was born in Gettysburg, PA on August 1, 1918 and was the daughter of John and Marguerite Snyder. She was married to William G. Moxley for 76 years before his death on October 8, 2015. Phyllis and Bill lived in the Buffalo, NY area from 1960 through 1981 subsequently moving to Ocala, Florida. They were active in boating and sailing on Lakes Erie and Ontario, and later were members and played golf at The Country Club at Silver Spring Shores in Ocala, Florida.  Phyllis and Bill relocated to Ponte Vedra Beach, FL in September of 2014. Phyllis was a strong faith based individual as demonstrated by her bible teaching at First Presbyterian Church and Trinity Baptist church; both located in Ocala, FL.

Phyllis is survived by her three sons, Harry (Jane) Moxley, of Baltimore, MD, Stephen (Susan) Moxley, of Alpharetta, GA, and Douglas Moxley of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL; sister, Peggy Downs, of Stephens City, VA; four grandchildren, Ryan (deceased 5/16), Darren Moxley, Melissa Runyan, and Kimberly Moxley;  three great grandsons, Tyler Moxley, and Ethan and Asher Runyan; and many nieces and nephews.

Phyllis will be laid to rest near her husband at the Jacksonville National Cemetery at 1:00 p.m., on Wednesday, January 18, 2017. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes to honor Phyllis’s volunteer work by requesting memorial gifts to the Make-A-Wish Foundation at: http://wish.org.
