Peter Bennett Nelson

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Peter Bennett Nelson on November 7, 2024, in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. Born in Jacksonville, Florida on October 9, 1980, Peter's gentle nature, keen intellect, and deep appreciation for life touched all those around him.

Peter's early years were marked by a profound love for the ocean and surfing. From a young age, he excelled in surfing, becoming a competitive surfer, earning sponsorship from Quicksilver and Volcom. His passion for surfing took him to numerous adventures worldwide, where he forged lasting friendships and experienced diverse cultures.

Education held great importance to Peter, who graduated from Bishop Kenny High School in 1999 after attending St. Paul's Catholic School. A well-read individual with a curious mind, he embraced travel, music, and photography, capturing the essence of his adventures through his lens. Peter's love for animals, especially dogs, and his affection for children were evident in his interactions, reflecting his kind and compassionate soul.

Peter leaves behind his loving parents, Steven and Kathleen Nelson, his brother Jason (Hadley) Nelson, his sister Julie (Steven) Morgan, his nephews Cade Nelson, Jack Morgan, Maxwell Morgan, his niece Olivia Nelson, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins who adored him. He is reunited in heaven with all of his grandparents and his cherished uncle, Thomas O'Conor.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 19, 2024 in St. Paul's Catholic Church, followed by a reception at St. Paul's Family Life Center. The family respectfully requests no flowers. Your thoughts and prayers are deeply appreciated during this time
