Paul Vernon Brooks

Paul Vernon Brooks, 47, of Jacksonville Florida passed away peacefully on June 1, 2022, with his family by his side.

Paul was born on December 23,1974 to Paul Hartley Brooks and Doreen May Brooks in Homestead Florida.   

Paul is preceded in death by his beloved father Paul Hartley Brooks, beloved grandmother Hilda Cannon and beloved uncle Jimmy Tickle.  

He is survived by his mother, Doreen M Brooks, son, Austin Brooks, brothers Mark Bennett (Michelle), Faron Bennett (Dana), nephews Chase and Michael Bennett and niece Jessica Bennett, Aunt Marjory Shufflebottom and 3 cousins in England and Aunt Ann Bowser and 3 cousins of North Carolina. 

Paul was a heavy equipment operator and enjoyed a hard day’s work.    

He had a love for the outdoors starting when he was a baby in a play pin on the boat.  He was always fishing or hunting and could always find a big buck!   He had many lifelong friends, Bart, Lewis, Johnny, Yank, Will and many others who he loved to spend time with and even be a little mischievous at times.   They spent many days and nights out in the woods and on the ocean sharing laughs and cracking jokes on each other making many big stories to tell and lifelong memories, some we may not want to know.  

He shared his love of the outdoors with his son Austin sharing many hunting and fishing trips and teaching him all the tricks of fishing and hunting.   

They shared many adventures together and always had a fishing tale to tell and a big buck that may or may not have gotten away.    Paul loved his son and all his family and friends deeply.   

Paul shared a love with his girlfriend Sarah and her daughter Emily making family memories and sharing many laughs and much love.   

Paul will be missed deeply by all his family and friends and will always be in our hearts. 

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday July 16th at 2pm at Quinn-Shalz Funeral Home, 3600 3rd St S Jacksonville Beach, FL  32250.  All are welcomed.
