PATRICK J. GOREY, 76, OF JACKSONVILLE, FL Patrick J. Gorey, 76, of Jacksonville, Florida and formerly from Pottstown, PA passed away suddenly January 12, 2016. Patrick was born January 10, 1940 in Dublin, Ireland to the late Maureen and Michael Gorey. He was a professional chef and writer, who worked in hotels in Dublin, London, Paris, Channel Islands and the U.S. Surviving is his wife of 41 yrs, Carol Gorey; stepson, Richard Schott; sisters, Nuala Byrne, of Navarre, Florida, and Ann Dodrill, of Dublin, Ireland; brother , Tony Gorey, of Australia; several nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, John and Michael Gorey, both of Dublin, Ireland. Patrick will be remembered as a loving husband and fun-loving person. He enjoyed cooking, gardening, golfing, traveling, and the joy of having recently published two books, but the greatest love of all was spending time with his friends and family. Visitation will be held from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m., Sunday, January 17th, at Quinn-Shalz Funeral Home of Jacksonville Beach, FL. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Monday, January 18th at Holy Spirit Church, of Jacksonville, FL with Reverend Larkin as Celebrant.
