Patricia Hamilton Bailey, 74, passed away April 10, 2016. She was born December 22, 1941 in Philadelphia, PA to her late parents, Richard and Rosalie Hamilton. Pat was raised in Atlantic Beach, FL and lived in NYC for 20 years, before returning back to Miami, FL and then back home to Atlantic Beach. Patricia also attended the University of South Carolina. She married the love of her life, John Brandon Bailey in 1979.
Patricia had an extensive career for the Republican Party. She was a Legislative Aide to Congressman Edward Gurney 1966-1968; Republican State Committee Woman St. John’s County 1998-2005; President of the St. John’s Republican Woman’s Club of St. Augustine 2000-2004; Chairman of Campaign Outreach for the Republican Party 1998-2006; Regional Co-Chair of Bush/ Chaney Campaign 2004; Member of Florida Republican State Committee 1998-2008; Republican National Site Committee New York-1999; Delegate for Republican National Convention 2000; RNC Honorary Guest to the Bush Chaney Inauguration 2001. In addition Patricia was an active participant for Ander Crenshaw Campaign; Tiller Fowler Congressional Campaigns; and St. John County Co- Chair of the John Mica Campaign for Congress.
Patricia’s career also included SRA Residential Appraiser 1970-2010; she worked for her father in the family business, Richard Hamilton & Associates of Jacksonville Beach; and The Weitzman Group Real Estate Consultants of NYC, NY. Patricia volunteered endlessly throughout Ashford Court Assisted Living and was elected to be the Resident Council President in 2016. She was an avid Bridge player and loved to travel the world.
Survivors include her brother, Stephen Hamilton; sister, Theresa H. Fletcher; nephews, Trey Fletcher and Sean Wheelahan; nieces, Erin Hamilton Chapman, Courtney Hamilton Heavener, Michele MacDonald, and Mandy Papenrock; sister-in-law, Kathy Hamilton; and loving dog, Fergie. Predeceased by her beloved husband, John Brandon Bailey in 2003; parents; and brothers, Chard Hamilton and Anthony Hamilton.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 16, 2016 in the Chapel of Quinn-Shalz Family Funeral Home.
