Pamela E. Thompson, 74, daughter of the late Bill and Phoebe Thompson III, passed away unexpectedly February 13th, 2021. Pam was born May 14th, 1946 and was a lifelong resident of Jacksonville and the local beaches.
Pam always loved helping others. She graduated from Florida State University and was a High School teacher in Duval County until her 1st retirement. She went back to college and earned her Master’s Degree from the University of Florida. She then started her second career as a Senior Librarian for the City of Jacksonville where she worked until her 2nd retirement in 2015.
Pam was a passionate reader and shared her love of books with her family and friends. She loved walking, talking with neighbors, and making friends with every dog she met.
Pam is survived by her loving family: sisters: Beth Kirby and Toni Smith; nieces: Angelique Kirby, Danielle Thompson and Mel Smith (Robin); nephews: Bill Thompson V (Catie), John Kirby and Michael Kirby: her precious Grand Niece, Quinn Thompson: and her dear, faithful dog Poppi. Pam is predeceased by her parents and more recently by her beloved brother, Bill Thompson IV.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions the family will only have a small private gathering. In lieu of flowers donations may be directed to a charity of your choice.
