Pamela Mabry, 91, passed on November 5, 2022. She was born on August 27, 1931 in Newark, NJ. She grew up in Jersey City. Sometimes awards, titles and achievements take on a different meaning. Pam learned at an early age how to give unselfishly of herself and to others without expecting anything in return. At 15 her young years were cut short when her mom had a stroke making her an invalid. Pam did everything for her. At her mom’s passing she tried college but was called home to help her father overcome more adversity. At 20 began her career with ESSO in the mailroom. For some reason, lost to time, Pam vacationed at the Ponte Vedra Club in 1954 where she met her soon to be husband, Jim ‘Buddy’ Mabry. She became wife in 1955 and mother in 1958 and 1960 where again took care of her loved ones until Jim retired and she went to work in 1977. She went to work with some property management companies. Finally in her 60’s she found her dream job with Ponte Vedra/Valerie Wilson Travel. She spent the next 25 + years meeting great people and traveling the world with Jim and sometimes her kids too.
She is survived by her son James, Jr; daughter Candace; grandchildren Jessica Schuster; James III; and two great grandchildren Storm and Stone. She was preceded by her husband James, Sr; her father and mother Frank and Evelyn Herter and her sister Joan MacKenzie.
A funeral service will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m. on November 22, 2022 at St. Paul’s Catholic Church with Fr. William Kelly as celebrant.
In lieu of flowers a donation in Pam’s name to First Coast Honor Flight would be appreciated.
