MCCURDY Oscar William McCurdy, Jr. passed away Sunday, November 29, 2015 at the age of 85. O.W. was the loving husband of Barbara Ann McCurdy for 38 years. O.W. was born in Houston, Texas on March 9, 1930, the son of O.W. McCurdy, Sr. and Juanita Erwin. O.W. was trademarked as an enthusiastic Longhorns fan. He attended the University of Texas A&M. O.W. retired from the company he founded, Coastal Reconstruction Inc. in 1998. He also founded Snake Eyes as he was an avid golfer and a force to be reckoned with on the course, who could, as he claimed, 'still beat the guys a quarter of his age'. If he wasn't on the golf course he could be found with a fishing pole in hand, as fishing was his second love. O.W. was an active member of The Chapel at Sawgrass and his love for the Lord was a well-known staple in his life. His four children survive him: Scott (Evelyn), Patrick, and Michael (Natalie) McCurdy, and Amy James; as well as 12 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. He will be missed by his family, friends, and church and golf community. The memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 16, 2016 at 11:00am at The Atrium at the Sawgrass Country Club. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Chapel at Sawgrass (P.O. Box 3205, Ponte Vedra Beach, FL, 32004). Please visit our online Tribute at www.quinn-shalz.com.
