Omega Corbitt

Omega Bruce Corbitt passed away November 23, 2016 in Jacksonville Beach, FL. Bruce was born September 22, 1938 to Belle and James D. Corbitt in Homerville, GA. He was the 11th child of 12 children.
Bruce served our country in the U.S. Air Force. He married his wife Wilma J. Heiman on December 14, 1957 in Marshall, WI. After his career in the Air Force he owned and operated multiple barber shops in Jacksonville Beach. He was recognized as the small business owner of the year by The Chamber of Commerce in 1968. Bruce served on the Jacksonville Beach City Council for twelve years. He was elected and served as City Clerk of Jacksonville Beach in 1989. He retired from the City in May of 2002. Following his retirement Bruce enjoyed spending time with his family along with working on his many rental properties.
He is survived by his loving wife of fifty-eight years, Wilma; sons, Johnny (Debbie) and Steve (Denise); daughters, Cheryl (Shawn) Palmer and Staci (Erik) Hunter and eight grandchildren; sister, Erabelle Tiner and brother, Herman Corbitt, both of Homerville, GA.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00am, Saturday, December 3, 2016 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church.
