Norma Horton

HORTON Norma Jean (Reed) Horton, 56, of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL passed away at Community Hospice McGraw Center in Jacksonville, FL on December 20, 2015 due to complications recovering from heart surgery. Norma was born February 15, 1959 in Cumberland, MD to parents Donald E. Reed, Sr. (deceased) and Linda K. Reed. She attended Marietta High School (Marietta, OH), and graduated in 1977 from Grand Ledge High School (Grand Ledge, MI). She obtained an Associate of Business degree (paralegal major) in 1979 from Baker College (Flint, MI). Norma worked as a bankruptcy paralegal and lived in Flint, MI until moving to Ponte Vedra Beach, FL in 1994. She enjoyed playing bingo, watching Discovery ID, NASCAR races, and reading. Norma cared deeply for her family and dog, Honey Bear. Norma was a loyal daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. Norma is survived by her mother, Linda Reed; sisters, Judy Reed, and Lona (Dale) Fladland; brother, Donald (Elizabeth) Reed; nephews, Bo, Dewayne, Austin, and Devin; nieces, Ashley (Nate), Jaitlyn, and Kayla; great-nephews, Sam and Declan; great-niece, Madigan; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Preceding her in death were her maternal and paternal grandparents; father, Donald E. Reed, Sr., and sister, Ellen Reed. A private memorial will be held at a later date.
