Nicholas “Nick” Malie, 84 passed away peacefully at Fleet Landing in Atlantic Beach, FL on January 28, 2025. Born in Youngstown, Ohio in 1940, Nick lived a full and meaningful life marked by love, service, and kindness.

Nick proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Randolph. In 1959, he married the love of his life, Rita, with whom he built a beautiful family and life fulfilled with joy and devotion.

Nick spent most of his career as Labor Relations Manager at General Motors. Known for his genuine care for others, he made it a point to walk the assembly, greeting everyone by name-a testament to his warm and personable nature.

In his earlier years, Nick found joy in golf, painting, and vacationing at his cherished home in the Bahamas. He was deeply passionate about helping others, dedicating time to teaching literacy, volunteering, and welcoming new residents as an Ambassador at Fleet Landing.

Nick is survived by his children, Nikki Malie, Douglas & Rita(Jr) Malie, as well as his beloved grandchildren, Morgan, and Madison Malie. Nick was preceded in death by his loving wife, Rita, who passed away in 2017. Nick touched countless lives with his compassion and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

In keeping with Nick’s wishes, there will be no funeral or formal service. Instead, the family asks that you hold him close in your thoughts and prayers, cherishing the memories he created with those around him. Anyone wishing to honor his memory donate to his favorite charity which is the Tom Coughlin Jay Fund (tcjayfund.org).
