Neil Alford Porter, born in Jacksonville, Florida on January 9th, 1923, passed away peacefully in his hometown of Jacksonville, Florida on March 13th, 2024.

After graduating from Robert E. Lee High School in 1940, Neil enlisted in the Marines during World War II and served his country until his honorable discharge in 1945. His service was a testament to his patriotism and courage.

Neil was a hard worker who began his long career in construction as a laborer, got his General Contractors license and eventually ascended to the position of Vice President. Neil's dedication and perseverance were truly commendable throughout his career.

Neil was a man of simple pleasures with a great sense of humor. He cherished memories of family trips to the beach and  poker nights where each chip held a priceless value of togetherness. Neil was known for his humility, kindness, and unassuming nature which endeared him to all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

In his leisure time, Neil found joy in playing golf, poker, making wooden toys for his grandchildren and actively participating in his church parish. However, above all else, his proudest accomplishments were his loving family. Neil is survived by his son Neil (Sherrie), son Bob (Suzzette), daughter Paula Kryceski, along with nine grandchildren and twenty-six great-grandchildren.

He is now reunited with his beloved wife of 60 years, Eileen Porter, along with their daughters Karen Porter, Barbara Porter, and Susan Porter who have gone before him.

Neil's legacy will live on through the memories he created with those he loved and the values he instilled in each generation of his family. His presence will be deeply missed but his spirit will remain in the hearts of those who knew him.

A small Mass of Christian Burial will be held privately in the coming week.
