Nancy O'Toole

Nancy O’Toole passed away on September 18, 2024 at the age of 77. Nancy was born on December 15, 1946 to Robert and Elou Fisher.

Nancy grew up in Llewellyn Park, New Jersey, attending the Oldfields School before heading to Paris for college. She then moved to Georgia and Texas before ultimately ending up in the Sarasota area of Florida where she resided for approximately 40 years. While in Sarasota, Nancy worked in the banking industry and met her husband, Jim. Nancy spent the last bit of her career managing the Gibbons Family Office. She moved to the Jacksonville area to be closer to family in her final years, making many friends in her short time there.

Nancy was an accomplished golfer and an equestrian. Nancy loved a good get together, a proper holiday table setting and trying to stay up to date with technology. She was organized but awful with directions. She was an avid traveler. She loved boating and sailing and any time on or near the water. She played a mean game of backgammon and dominoes and loved to play cards. She was an animal lover and always had a dog (and sometimes a cat) to keep her company.

Nancy is predeceased by her parents. She leaves behind her husband of 33 years, Jim O’Toole, and his four children, Justin, Gina, Larry and Deirdre and his grandchildren. She also leaves behind many long time friends. While Nancy was an only child, she never felt like one because she was truly a member of the extended Gibbons family. She leaves behind her “siblings” Marion, George, Pauline, Carolyn, Bob and Lois, and their spouses and children, whom she considered her nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, please donate in Nancy’s memory to the USGA Girls in Golf or to an animal shelter of your choosing.

Services will be held at a later date.
