Miriam Grant

Miriam Deal Grant passed on to her heavenly home on December 28, 2020. She was born on September 26, 1925, in Spartanburg, SC, to Ruth and Esbon Deal. She graduated Spartanburg High School and attended the University of South Carolina and Spartanburg Business College and worked for the US Department of Agriculture. In 1947, she was married to William H. Grant until his passing in 2001. With the exception of some part-time work as a substitute school Teacher, she devoted the rest of her life to being a wife, mother, and homemaker.

She was a devoted Christian and a member of the Deermeadows Baptist Church of Jacksonville. She loved the Lord Jesus Christ, her church, and her family. She was a talented artist and produced many beautiful pieces of hand painted china. She loved cooking for her family. After her husband’s retirement they travelled extensively in the US and abroad.

Miriam was blessed with having a large and loving family. She was predeceased by four brothers, Raymond, James, Edward, and Dee and one sister, Sarah Deal. She is survived by her sister Mary Ann Hix, two sons Charles W. Grant (Irina) and Edward J. Grant (Billie), 4 grandchildren, Bill, Brian, Miriam, and Megan, 3 great granddaughters, Brooke, Caroline, and Ruby, and one great-great grandson, Liam, and her many nieces and nephews. We will all miss her tender loving care.
