Michael Lee, 53, much loved husband, father, son, and friend, lost his battle with cancer on August 10, 2024. A Celebration of Life Memorial will be held Saturday October 12, 2024, 4:00pm, at the Jacksonville Firefighter Hall, 2516 Phyllis Street, Jacksonville, FL, 32204.

Born and raised in Jacksonville, Michael graduated from Edward H. White High School in 1988. At just 17 years old, Michael entered the Fire Science Program, then the Paramedic Program, at Florida Community College at Jacksonville. He was so pleased to follow in his father’s footsteps as a Firefighter and Paramedic with the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department, graduating in Recruit Class 391 on August 30, 1991. For the next 25 years Michael proudly served the people of Jacksonville fighting fires and saving lives (as well as delivering a few babies along the way). Lieutenant Lee retired at the young age of 45 years old, allowing him to spend quality time with family and friends doing some of his favorite things. Michael was a passionate singer and songwriter, accompanying himself on one of his many guitars. He was an avid fisherman and could often be found casting a line in his own backyard. Grilling and smoking on his Big Green Egg was another passion of Michael’s. He often cooked enough to share with neighbors. And laughing, he was always laughing. His unique and infectious laughter will be missed by all that have shared a laugh with him.

Michael was a loving and adoring father to his son Vaughn (18) and daughter Rosalind (13). He cherished his amazing wife of 20 years, Nikki. Michael felt so lucky to have his wonderful in-laws, Ken and JoAnne Perrone, in his life. As well as having a second loving family in a mom, Button Lee; as sister, Mandi Jones and her husband, Scott, and their children Konner, Ethan, and MaciJay; a brother, B.J. Eskew and his wife, Ashely, and their children Benson and Kynnlee. Michael dearly missed his parents who predeceased him, Glenda and Ken Lee.
