Maximilien Sheller

February 12, 1997 — March 24, 2021

Maximilien Pierce Sheller 24 years old, passed away on March 23, 2021. He was the beloved son of John and Rebecca Sheller and younger brother to Walker Christian Sheller.

A friend said, “1781 miles, 9 states down and 9 states back in 62 hours that’s what he meant to us.” His cousin Hannah Blakemore Hart said, “May 1st will now be your day, the day we came together to celebrate the amazing person you are.”

Heaven gained our loving, kind, athletic and hilarious son Max. His smile was infectious.  Max was born on February 12,1997 in Abington PA. We nicknamed him Lincoln because of his height and the fact that he was born on Abraham Lincoln’s birthday.  Max loved water, surfing, fishing, and wakeboarding. His favorite trip was surfing Trestles, CA with his Uncle Billy Gilbert (Cougar Bill). He told us surfing was where he felt best. Max loved music, he danced like the red sky dancer outside a car dealership, he played piano by ear, he filled our hearts and made us laugh. Max and Walker won the Landrum Middle School Science Fair in 2009 and came in 3rd in the Regional Science Fair. Max graduated from Camden Military Academy in 2015 and was awarded the Gold Star for grades and leadership. He received the Spartan Award for varsity football playing offense, defense, and special teams. He pitched in the varsity regional baseball tournament and won--the first time the school gained the trophy in years.  Max was awarded the Most VALUABLE Pitcher in 2015.  Max was offered an academic and baseball scholarship in South Carolina and was accepted as a candidate to the Citadel.

Max loved family, especially his older brother; he would wrap his big, long arms around us and let us know he loved us. He often held our hands and told us how much he loved us. Max is survived by his parents, John and Rebecca Sheller; brother, Walker Sheller (Savannah); grand-parents, Robert and Marcia Walker; Aunt, Polly Hart (Troy Hobbs); Aunt and Uncle, Wendy and Chris Peck; cousins, Hannah Hart, William Hart, Andrew Peck, Justin Peck.
