Maureen Ann Romano, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on November 14, 2023, in Jacksonville Beach, Florida surrounded by her family. She was born on October 24, 1954, in Mineola, New York to Stephen and Catherine Wagner.
Maureen was known for her feisty and headstrong nature. She possessed a remarkable ability to speak her mind without hesitation or reservation. However, despite her forthrightness, she never judged others and always found the good in everyone she encountered. Her warm heart and compassionate soul endeared her to all who knew her.
One of Maureen's proudest accomplishments was her family. Her children held a special place in her heart, and she dedicated herself to creating a loving and supportive village for them. From the moment they entered this world, Maureen instilled in them a deep importance of family that will continue to shape their lives. Through this virtue of hers, Maureen has left behind an enduring legacy that will be cherished by future generations.
Maureen was thrilled to embark on new and daring adventures. She had a love for traveling and exploring unfamiliar places. Nothing could deter her from venturing into the unknown and creating lasting memories (for everyone) along the way.
Maureen is predeceased by her loving husband, Joseph Romano; her son Christian Romano; her mother Catherine Wagner; and her father Stephen Wagner.
Maureen is survived by her children, Joseph Romano, Jakob Romano, Daniel (Amber) Romano, Elaina (Joseph) Simmons, and Stephen Romano; grandchildren, Joseph Romano, Ryland Romano, Lyla Romano, Xena Romano, Joseph Simmons, Christanna Romano, Avery Simmons, and Lucca Romano; siblings, Linda (Tony) Dimonda, Gary (Pat) Wagner, Dennis Wagner, Eileen (Ralph) Scannapieco, Stephen (Lori) Wagner, and Cathy (Danny) Meyer.
Maureen's loss will be deeply mourned not only by her immediate family but also by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends whose lives were enriched by her. Her infectious laughter and genuine kindness have forever left an indelible mark on their hearts.
A Memorial Service to celebrate Maureen Ann Romano's life will take place on November 18, 2023, at Beaches Little Chapel 505 Beach Blvd Jacksonville Beach, FL 32250. The service will begin at 1:00.
Reception will be held immediately following the service 2:00-4:00 at Beaches Museum 381 Beach Blvd Jacksonville Beach, FL 32250.
