Mary Lou Papy Bull, 79, passed away at the McGraw Center of Community Hospice after a long illness. Mary Lou was the daughter of the late Eugene and Juanita Papy and grew up in Tampa, Florida.
Mary Lou was a wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed life to the fullest. She was an accomplished artist and craftsperson in many media including painting, stain glass and ceramics. She loved working with antiques and interiors, played the piano and liked doing needlework. Before she became ill, she was an avid gardener who enjoyed having an evening cocktail under the shade of a front yard tree with her husband and neighbors. In her youth, she loved playing tennis and golf at the Selva Marina Country Club. She was a past member of the Beaches Area Historical Society and was a Sassy Tapper dancer.
Mary Lou was much loved and cherished by her family and many friends. She was kind, considerate, forgiving, even tempered and seldom said anything unkind.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, George Bull, Jr.; two daughters, Rebecca B. DiPietro and Deborah B. Hutchinson; three grandchildren, Ashley Foyt, Amanda Espinall and Dylan Hutchinson; two brothers, Edward Eugene (Sonny), Papy (Mona) and Wayne Papy (Beverly); nephews, Michael Papy (Nina), Jimmy Papy and Jason Papy (Nicola), and Jason’s mother, Rosanne; niece, Holly Beiber (Henry); and numerous other Papy and Bull family relations.
Services will be held in the Chapel of Quinn-Shalz Funeral Home, 3600 Third Street South, Jacksonville Beach, Florida at 11:00 am on Saturday, April 1, 2017. The family has expressly asked for those attending the ceremony to wear very casual attire (no coats and ties) befitting their informal Beaches lifestyle.
