Mary Ann Smith, 91, born June 30, 1932, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.

She was the daughter of the late John and Mary Pavlick and was born and raised in Hunlock Creek, PA and a graduate of Harter High School. She proudly served in the United States Army, in the Women’s Army Corps during the Korean War. Upon receiving an honorable discharge from the Army in 1952, she worked as a key punch operator for several years. She enjoyed cooking, puzzles, dancing, and spending time with and entertaining family and friends. Her passion for dance reflected her vibrant spirit and zest for life.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Albert Pavlick and John Pavlick, and her beloved partner John Collier. 

She is survived by her children Sherry Harper (Wade), Ray Smith Jr. and Tina Grant (Thomas); grandchildren, Krissy LaFountain (Scott), Ash Harper (Bobbie), Mary Grant and Thomas Grant; great-grandchildren, Westley LaFountain, Tina Ricker, Sean Lewis and Alexis Lewis; great-great-grandchildren, Lily Cleveland, Layla LaFountain, Lucas LaFountain, Harper Ricker, Kinsley Ricker and Wylie Ricker; and sisters, Margaret Moyer, Monica Davis, Theresa Roman, Elizabeth Sorber, Mildred Rusnak, Ann Rish and Christine Rombilus (Bill). 

Mary Ann leaves her family with many years of precious memories and will be greatly missed by all.

A graveside ceremony will be held on 14 June 2024 at 2:30pm at the Jacksonville National Cemetery in Jacksonville, FL.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Community Hospice and Palliative Care, Anne & Donald McGraw Center for Caring, 4715 Worrall Way, Jacksonville, FL 32224.

When you arrive please pull into lane #2 and wait to be lead in procession to the designated committal shelter by cemetery staff. There are no restrooms available at the committal shelter, however upon your initial arrival at the cemetery and adjacent to lane #2 there are restrooms located in the administrative building.
