Mary Elizabeth Schott

Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida

Mary Elizabeth Schott, 64, passed away in the company of her family at her home on Wednesday, April 9, 2025. Born in Detroit, MI she and her family moved to Coshocton, OH in 1967 and eventually settled in Clearwater, FL in 1973 to follow her family's business and dream of living in the Sunshine state.

Mary graduated as valedictorian from the Paul B Stevens School in Clearwater. She was employed at Ruth Eckerd Hall and Red Lobster. She and her mother moved to Jacksonville, FL in 2002. She attended New Heights of Northeast Florida and Pine Castle until 2021. During her time at Pine Castle, she actively participated in the chorus, various art projects and continually strived to be the instructor's assistant.

Mary was funny and clever, she was determined and resourceful, she loved to sing and dance. In 1987 she had a painting published in the Arts of Pinellas annual calendar and she was always caring for people in need. She was a bright light and inspiration to everyone who got to know her.

Mary is predeceased by her parents Irene (Hibler) and Thomas Schott. She leaves behind her loving siblings, sister Maureen (Steve) Sullivan of Ponte Vedra Beach; brothers Thomas (Barbara Gee) Schott of New York City; James Schott of Tampa and nephews James and Ryan Schott of Tampa.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated by Father Christopher Knight at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 22, 2025 in Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church, located at 545 A1A North, Ponte Vedra Beach, FL 32082. 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Pinecastle.
