Mary Ann Moore

Mary Ann Moore passed away peacefully Wednesday May 18th at Vicars Landing in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. Mary Ann, affectionately known as Aunt Honey, was born September 14th, 1930, in Lucy, Tennessee to Mark Eugene Wortham and Nellie Pearl (Adams) Wortham. After graduating from Millington High School in 1948, Mary Ann attended Carson-Newman University.

After Mary Ann moved to Jacksonville, she became a Realtor and built the successful firm, Saxon Realty. Mary Ann married the love of her life Walter L. Moore August 18, 1979, and lived in Jacksonville, FL.  After retirement, Mary Ann and Walter enjoyed traveling the world visiting many locations on several continents and spending summers at their Ashville, NC second home.

Mary Ann is predeceased by all of her brothers and sisters. She is survived by three stepdaughters: Jeannette Moore, Karin Nass (Tom), Birgit Schlegemilch (Siegfried) and numerous Nieces and Nephews.

Mary Ann and Walter were long time members of Lakewood United Methodist Church.

We are so grateful to her companions Diane Felts and Merrily Klefeker along with the Vicar’s Landing staff for their extraordinary love and care over the last decade.

A memorial service will be held at the Jacksonville National Cemetery, Friday June 10, 2022, at 10:30 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Community Hospice or to The Vicar’s Landing Scholarship Fund in Mary Ann’s honor.
