Mary O. Harris

MARY O. HARRIS, born in St Francisville, LA on September 1, 1935, went to sleep peacefully on October 8, 2024. 

She is the daughter of the late Feltus and Elizabeth Thornton Cavalier, devoted wife to the late Herbert Harris Jr., loving mother to Gregory H. Harris Sr.; Reginald J. Harris Sr.; Patricia Harris Domino; Deborah Henson (late Cedric) and Henrietta “Retta” Rogers (Fred), grandmother to six grandsons, three granddaughters; great grandmother to five great-grandsons, six great-granddaughters, and a bonus mom to a host of nieces, nephews, as well as many of her family members and friends, for which she greatly loved all. She took great delight in her children and loved her Herbert with all her heart.

Mary was a member of the Jehovah Witness Organization, Jacksonville Beach Congregation, she received her baptism on April 19, 2024. Her greatest joy was her family whom she loved dearly. Mary was known for being faithful and diligent in prayer, always praying for her family and friends to know GOD, have wisdom, knowledge and understanding of His word applied to their lives, and to do what is pleasing to Him. 

She held several positions throughout Herbert’s 28 years of service in the U.S. Army, with her most cherished being a devoted wife and mom.
