Mark Tondreault

February 18, 1959 — January 14, 2018

Mark Francis Tondreault, 58, died Sunday, January 14, 2018.  Mark was born February 18, 1959, in St. Petersburg, Florida and lived in Ponte Vedra Beach for over 40 years.  He worked in land development from the time he was 18 years old, progressing from operator to superintendent during his long career. In 2008, Mark survived a liver transplant and heart valve replacement performed at the same time – a first of its kind surgery at Shands Hospital in Gainesville, Florida.  He devoted the past ten years of his life to educating others about the dangers of alcohol abuse, speaking at middle school & high schools, clubs, and public forums.   Mark was an easy-going, upbeat man who could always see the humor in a bad situation.  He was a great storyteller and loved to make people laugh.

He is survived by his wife, Eileen Crane Tondreault, daughter, Patricia (Buddy) Hammonds, son Jason Tondreault, step-son Christian (Rachel) Crane; sisters Dianne (James) Thompson & Denise Bizzaro of Amarillo, Texas and brothers John, Matt (Patricia), James (Jean) and four grandsons.

He was preceded in death by his first wife Patricia Porter Tondreault and parents John F. and Marjorie Tondreault.

A Celebration of his Life will be held on February 16, 2018, at Christ Episcopal Church, 400 San Juan Drive, Ponte Vedra, Florida, at 1:00 PM with a reception to follow.  In lieu of flowers please send contributions to Pancreatic Cancer Action - pancan.org – or the pancreatic cancer organization of your choice.
